Overview of my academic and professional background.
overview
Dr. Fengming Lin is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manchester, working at the intersection of medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and in-silico trials. His research aims to advance the development of computational models and digital twins that can accelerate innovation in cardiovascular medicine.
He has contributed to methods for vascular segmentation, image registration, and image-to-mesh reconstruction, integrating deep learning with biomechanical modeling to enable simulation-ready patient-specific models. His work supports the vision of applying generative AI and virtual populations to regulatory science and healthcare translation.
Dr. Lin is committed to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between computer science, medicine, and engineering, and has co-authored over 17 publications in leading journals and conferences. Beyond his core research, he actively reviews for top-tier journals and explores the broader application of AI, including large language models for healthcare and decision support.
